Robert Perry King

ROBERT PERRY KING, age 74, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2025 at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington CH.

He was born on April 13, 1951 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late Herbert and Hilda (Gray) King. Robert had worked at Thatcher’s Plastic for many years and retired from WillowWood in Mount Sterling. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar, and listening to country music.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita (Richards) King; granddaughter, Lillian Null; great-grandson, Eli Darlington; and siblings, Chuck King, Beverly Duncan, and Linda Cox.

Survivors include his children, Barbara (David) Chain, Nicole (Lewis) Myers, Kelly Rhoads, and Connie Darlington; grandchildren, Dylan, Nathan, Joshua, Tyler, Michael, Cody, Bryanna, Gavin, Kylie, Trevor, and Lucas, along with many great-grandchildren; and sisters, Janet Gookenbarger, and Audra Althouse. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
