Josephine Carol Braden Obituary

JOSEPHINE CAROL BRADEN, age 91, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

She was born on July 3, 1932 in Highland County to the late Arthur and Stella (Taylor) Current. She was a 1950 graduate of Good Hope High School. Josephine retired as an aide from Kiddie Care at the First Baptist Church in Washington CH. She was a member at the Greenfield Church of Christ and the Bar W Riding Club. She enjoyed attending horse shows, traveling to Oklahoma for the Rodeo, and listening to the music of Johnny Paycheck.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas E. “Eddie” Braden, whom she married on December 10, 1950; son-in-law, Joe A. Lane; and siblings, Lena Fee, and Arthur Dale “Sonny” Current.

Survivors include her children, Gale Lane, and Tom (Debbie) Braden; grandchildren, Thomas J (Tami) Braden, Bethany Williamson, and Scott (Amy) Lane; great-grandchildren, Austin Braden and his significant other, Taylor Dugan, Addie Braden, Sam Braden, Kaine (Cassy) Williamson, Lenza Williamson, Conner Lane, and Davis Lane; great-great-granddaughter, Aiyana Braden; and sister Jean Dixon. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Rd., Circleville, OH 43113 or to the Commission on Aging, 1179 Elm St. S, Washington CH, OH 43160.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds and Larry Lane officiating with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
